In one sentence
The BirdTalk app needs no account, includes no advertising or tracking, and does not connect to a developer server. Sound analysis and companion data are processed and stored on your device by default. This website cannot access data inside the app.
Data processed on your device
Sound is processed only when you start listening, record a comfort phrase, or import an audio file. Bird profiles, interpretations, journals, feedback, settings, and your comfort recordings remain in the app’s local data container.
Imported audio is read for analysis and is not copied into BirdTalk’s data directory or uploaded.
What the app does not do
BirdTalk has no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDK. It does not upload, sell, or share recordings, bird profiles, journals, or usage history. The app’s local features continue to work even if this website is unavailable.
Website visits and Cloudflare
This website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare Pages. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page-view and performance trends. It does not use advertising cookies, browser local storage, or cross-site personal profiles, and it cannot access recordings, profiles, or journals in BirdTalk.
Hosting and network providers may process request information necessary for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. We do not use website traffic to identify individual bird owners or for advertising.
Retention, permissions, and deletion
Local app data remains until you delete it in BirdTalk, clear all local data, or uninstall the app. You can revoke microphone permission in Apple system settings at any time. Because the data never leaves your device, the developer cannot remotely access or delete it for you.
